Back to Give This a Shot

Alright – here I am, back to give this a shot! Now before I go and make this blog to public (ya know, sharing out with the Instagram), it’s time to practice getting into the habit of writing.

I’ve been MIA for some time – I’ve tried sticking to a few themed blogs here and there. I’ve spread myself too thin with work, fitness, and home. But I finally feel like I’m in a good place to try and develop my writing habit. We will see what comes of it.

For now, an intro!

Hi – my name is Liz! I am a Washingtonian by birth. After moving here and there around the country, I’ve found myself in the Seattle metro area. I absolutely love it here. I’ve named this blog “Anchored in the Evergreens” because I truly feel that even if life takes me away from Western Washington, part of my heart will always be here.

By day I’m a project manager for a corporate marketing company, working with technical teams. By night and weekends? That’s where the true adventure is at. I am married to a handsome man, Tim, and our dog child’s name is Kuma. Kuma is a three-year-old Alaskan Klee Kai that requires a lot of exercise due to his excessive amount of energy!

That energy perfectly suits me, though. I love to run, backpack, hike, paddleboard, swim, and bike. Well, honestly, I Iove to do anything active and outdoors. I started running in 2014 after a friend invited my to join her in half marathon – that was the start of this addiction. Now my fitness plan evolves around this addiction (and I’m perfectly okay with that). I am not the fastest runner – my half marathon PR is 02:15:00. My next goal is to complete a half marathon by end of 2017 at two hours or less. I have completed one marathon (the Portland Marathon) and as crazy as it sounds I plan to do another. I hope to bring others along on this adventure of becoming a “runner.”

One thing you should definitely know – I love animals. My husband might call me obsessed. I enjoy spending my spare time volunteering at Pasado’s Safe Haven, an animal rescue for abused and neglected animals of all kinds. If I had it my way, I would be living on a farm with all kinds of animals!

As like my females, I enjoy making a home. You’ll probably see a few of my DIY projects or thrifted finds here and there.

So there you have it! Welcome to my second attempt at Anchored in the Evergreens!
